About Ruler Real Online
Ruler Real Online is a free, browser-based measurement tool that turns your computer screen, tablet, or smartphone into a precision ruler.
What We Do
Most rulers you find online default to 96 PPI, the old web standard. But modern screens vary widely — from 82 PPI on a budget 27-inch monitor to 460 PPI on the latest iPhone. Without calibration, an “inch” on screen is just a guess.
Ruler Real Online solves this with three precise calibration methods that match the ruler to your specific display:
- Auto-detect — Automatically identifies your device from a built-in database of 60+ screens and applies the factory PPI.
- Screen diagonal — Enter your screen’s diagonal measurement in inches. The tool calculates the precise PPI from your screen’s native resolution.
- Credit card calibration — Place a standard credit card on screen and drag a slider until the rectangle matches. No extra hardware needed.
